Ok, so Lights Action are on a break until October. MCR are going back on tour-next year???? MSI, God knows. 30stm are probably back out next year. The Cab apparently seem to hate the UK. 65daysofstatic are on in London in Novemeber, but I doubt anyone will go all the way to London with me. Taking Back Sunday are back in the US now. Placebo are in Birmingham in December, but I doubt I can go. And there are only crap seats left, but I wouldn't even care!!! Although it's a mid-week concert so I don't think I could get up there then. Fightstar are in Exeter in October, hopefully I'll be able to go and see them. Don't know when the Gaslight Anthem are back over here, but Blink 182 are over here next year. So, all money down the drain officially :P

The number of post titles that are actually FOB lyrics is incredible

As much of a douchebag as Pete Wentz is (he is, im sorry he just is), I LOVE his words. Honestly, I don't know where I'd be now without his lyrics and that really rather brilliant band.

First song of theres I ever heard was Sugar, and although I'd already been drawn into that genre (curse you MCR), it was that song that did it for me. FUTCT was the first album I bought with my own money, and is still one of my absolute favourites. That song was also what reunited me and my best friend, just having that first bit of common ground to talk about.
I was going through a pretty hard time at school anyway, and just having music like that I could listen to helped me so so much.

Please don't think im one of those stupid fans who only listens to the commercial stuff. I went out and bought TTTYG and EWYG as soon as a I could, and bought IOH the day it came out. I walked down to town to buy FAD in my FAD shirt when it came out. Guy at the shop thought I was a freak, really didn't care.

My first proper concert was going to see them in Birmingham, and making the huge trip up there was so so worth it-honestly one of the best night of my life!

Of course, after all that, It'll probably turn out that they all love each other and they'll go back on tour next year (God, I hope that happens!) But if it doesn't, and they don't do anything else, I just wanted to put my love for them out into the universe.
I don't think anyone will quite understand how much they mean to me, and I've written it down incredibly badly, but they truly have changed my life (as cheesy as that sounds)

Everyone should go and listen to the score for I,Robot, purely because it's amazing. Particularly this bit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm_mwdM8my4&feature=PlayList&p=95910C79A1E1479E&index=1

Also, I want Patrick Stump's solo album like, yesterday? And the new My Chem album would be very much appreciated as well :D

Ow

  • Jan. 28th, 2010 at 11:54 AM

Been off school for the last 2 days because of severe period pains, ha (trying to explain this to my male form tutor tomorrow is going to be hilarious).
Managed to ride the beast yesterday, he was so good. Went for 2 gallops in the field, got him trotting nicely on the bit down the whole length of it as well-so proud!

My last (written) exam is on monday, which will be such a relief. Im so fed up of feeling so stressed about work all the time. I can move onto new stresses after this :P

"underdog"

  • Jan. 17th, 2010 at 10:49 PM

I've had 3 maths based exams this week, im pretty sure i've failed at least one of them, if not two. Oh dear, I may be retaking in summer i feel.
Snow's finally melted, so I've actually been able to ride (and been run off with, great fun). School is as hideous as ever, but I have 2 uni interviews yay!

And you know what, Im pretty sure that's all the interesting stuff that's happened this week. Oh god, I need to have a more interesting life lol.

And another thing I hate......

  • Jan. 9th, 2010 at 2:29 PM

.....not having people to go to gigs with. Like, seriously, Gemma refuses to go to anything that she doesn't love (and I've been to so many gigs with her of bands I hate), and Abi has now decided that I don't exist, which is nice of her.
And of course my mum isn't very happy about me going to any gigs that aren't in Exeter-MUM, NO BANDS PLAY IN EXETER!!!!! Basically, I'm still pissed off about missing Placebo and Paramore, and now because we're not moving I could go and see 30stm, but I can't!!!!!!!!!!

Today is not going well

SNOW!!!!

  • Jan. 8th, 2010 at 6:53 PM

My school's been closed for the last 2 days, so yay for snow days. Ours isn't nearly as bad as everywhere else in the country, but it's bad enough that I can't go and see my friend in Bristol on Sunday. *sad face*

Sorry for lack of updates, my exams start on monday so I've been slightly swamped

Frank Turner

Best concert of the year:
That I've actually bee to? Ah, tough tough decision. Both Lights Action shows were amazing in their own way, the first because it was my first time seeing them, the second because we met the lovely Mr Patrick afterwards. But both were brought down by the people I was there with :(. On a bigger scale, The Killers was just wonderful, absolutely amazing, but the ret of that day, and the getting there and back, ahhhhh bad day in that respect. Muse was incredible because well, it's Muse, but this was just before their new album came out, so I feel if I'd known the songs I would have had a better time (and if Matt hadn't been such an idiot, well yeah). But apparently they're meant to be playing Newton Abbot racecourse next year so :D :D :D. Um, who else, oh yeah Late Of The Pier was hilarious, got barrier for the first time in my life, but OMG kill the people I went with.

So, um think the list is like this....
1. The Killers
2. Lights Action (1st time)
3. Lights Action (2nd time)
4. Kerry Ellis
5. Muse
6. Frank Turner
7. Late of the Pier

And then if I'd been allowed to go, Fightstar, In Case Of Fire, Placebo and Paramore would have all been amazing :)

My horse is an idiot who tried to climb through the hedge out of his field and then jump the wire fence to get into next doors field. But he failed, and I woke up in the morning to find him trapped to the fence with barbed wire all round his leg. He's fine, don't worry, he's just the tinniest bit stupid.

Meme days 3 and 4

because I'm stupid and forgot about it, you get 2 days for the price of one

Day 03 | Your favorite television program
Day 04 | Your favorite book

Tv show-CSI, hands down. I swear, it's my comfort show. Like, if I'm having a crap day I'll go and shove it one in the background. And I watch it to fall asleep (yep, that's pretty morbid, but oh well, moving on)

Favourite book-God, I really don't know, I honestly don't. I think possibly the Artemis Fowl books (yes, I know it's technically a series). Eoin Colfer was the first author I ever actually went out to go and see, and he's such a lovely guy. Love those books, I really do

Good vs Bad

  • Dec. 7th, 2009 at 9:34 PM

Good point of the day is basically This Is War coming out. I trailed down into town in the pouring rain to get it (uggs got soaked, I had raisin toes for the rest of the day, not nice at all) and then listened to it when the family went out for dinner. AHHH, I'm slightly in love with it! Ok, a lot in love with it!!!!! ITS WONDERFUL AHHHH!!!!!

Bad, well school was shite, and then my charming mother told me I'm not going to Placebo tomorrow. Right, because it's not as id I've been looking forward to this since August. It's not as if this is the one thing that's been keeping me going for the last 4 months or anything?!?!

Right, I'm gonna go and teach myself some more maths

Meh

  • Dec. 5th, 2009 at 11:19 PM

My parents come home tonight from Yorkshire, so me and my brother have spent all afternoon cleaning-fun times were had by all, as I'm sure you can imagine

The stupid pony and I went out this afternoon, he ran off with me three times as he's just that helpful. Led him most of the way back. Ah, I want to jump him. And I want to not have to go to school on Monday. And I've returned back to my normal state of "ahhhh, life, saddddddd makinngggg". Normal service has been resumed, it's fine, don't worry :)

EDIT: as I apparently really can't spell at all

Meme day 2

Day 02 | Your favorite movie

This changes a lot depending on what sort of mood I'm in, but there's some that I genuinely never get sick of, and if someone suggests I watch it then i NEVER say no.

That picture is supposed to be of the Lion King, but I don't know whether it's worked as the computer is being a stressy little thing this morning. It's just, ah such an amazing movie, and I still can't watch it without crying and I NEVER DO THAT AT FILMS! And the stage show is just as amazing! And it's based on Hamlet, which is like my favourite Shakespeare play. And OMG the animation at the beginning, the artwork is simply stunning :D!!!!
I'll stop rambling now and leave you with this\

L'anglais

  • Nov. 30th, 2009 at 9:47 PM

English is actually going pretty well at the moment. Yes, I'm aware of how bizaare that sounds, but I've always been alright at English, but more the creative writing side rather than the 'use of a comma here shows she's dying' side. And my English lit teacher last year told me I'd be lucky to scrape a C at AS. And I was 5 marks off an A last year.
And, I don't know, I seem to get it this year. Our first essay of the year, that I did in a day due to laptop falling apart issues, got the highest mark in the class and got photocopied for someone else as a marker of 'good work.' And our latest essay that I honestly did in no time at all and I said in class that I was sorry someone else had to read it because it was so bad. She pipes up with "your self esteem is so low, you got the best mark in the class". I don't quite know where I stand with her lol.

Anyway, This Is War is out in 6 days, and Placebo in 7 days. Woop

Oh, and since it's music monday

I am alive!

  • Nov. 28th, 2009 at 3:19 PM

I just wanted to make it clear I'm not dead. I've just been swamped with school work, and I've just finished doing a play.
Anyway, on a happier note, my Placebo tickets finally arrived (the new one that I ordered when my first ones didn't come after 3 months, and the old ones that came after 3 months and 2 weeks). So if anyone wants 2 Placebo tickets for December 8th in Birmingham, let me know :)
